Dengue - Symptoms, Prevention, Treatment and Signs

Symptoms usually occur four to six days after infection and last for up to 10 days. The most common symptoms include severe high fever with severe headache and muscle and joint pain. The symptoms also include mild skin rashes, mild to severe nausea and loss of appetite. It may also cause mild bleeding from the nose or gums and can result in low platelet count which is a frightening sign. People with a weak immune system or those who have had this infection more than once are more vulnerable to this problem.

Prevention of Dengue from Breeding

Clean the utensils accumulating water like empty planters, flower pots, fridge trays, storage or garbage bins, cans where chances of mosquito breeding is there every alternate day. Regularly clean and change the water in bird bowl as the stagnant water in these bowls can attract mosquitoes every alternate day. Dispose of the items like old tyres broken cans, flower pots that collect rain placed outside the home. Use Good Mosquito Repellents preferable natural one like Lemon grass oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Neem Oil etc. to protect against mosquito bites. Stay in Air-Conditioned rooms as mosquitoes cannot survive in a cool atmosphere. When outdoors wear protective and light colored clothing that reduces skin exposure to mosquito by covering the skin with loose, long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
